I won an item but the seller refuses to sell, what do I do?

So you've won an item at a great price, snapped up a bargain, paid for it (or not even had chance to pay) and you get a message from the seller telling you they've lost it, or broke it, or simply refuse to sell it because it didn't fetch the price they'd hoped for. What are your options?

Sadly, you can't force them to send it or honour the sale, but there are a number of things you can do to stop the seller doing it repeatedly. The first thing is to politely insist that they send the item at the price you paid for it. If this fails you of course have the option of leaving negative or neutral feedback. You should also Report the Seller to eBay as a Non Performing Seller, if a few people do the same, the seller will face sanctions and ultimately suspension from selling on eBay. If you're owed money, raise an Item Not Received dispute with Paypal. Don't be afraid to leave bad feedback for sellers that refuse to honour a sale, they can't leave you bad feedback in return.
